5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent materials and programming
Although it uses the same software as the Baofeng, the case, antenna, and earpiece are made of superior materials. A strong point is the pre-set programming. I would be interested in trying other products from their line.

3.0 out of 5 stars Frequency of use
The radio is very limited, making it difficult to use in the car because the range is so short! A terrible purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful during my in-flight communications.
It's a shame that the mini-jack input on the earphones gives me some problems.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great battery
The radio worked well for the few months that I had it, unfortunately the battery has already given up and no longer holds a charge, was I unlucky or is it no longer charging/discharging correctly after just a few months?

5.0 out of 5 stars Techside TS-T9+
5.0 out of 5 stars Techside TS-T9+ Excellent VHF/UHF radio. It comes with all Midland channels already set, both the 69 LPD and the 16 PMR446. You can also store other frequencies. The power is high also thanks to the supplied powered antenna and it holds a charge for a long time when listening. The instructions, although written in small print, are in Italian and can also be downloaded from the manufacturer's website. It is possible to listen to FM radio stations (by pressing the button on the top left), however, since UHF/VHF radio signals prevail over FM ones, I recommend setting the "squelch" (voice menu 1) to at least level 4. Finally, it is equipped with an acoustic alarm and a small emergency light.

Overall Good
Overall Good The radio arrive fast and i tested for few days in some places on my vacation. Forest, city, mountain and sea. It was pretty good. You want more power, change the antenna. Even with the Tech side antenna you could get enough area but if you need more power, get another one. Actually it is a good radio. A little too expensive but on general it is a good choice. I don't know if there is some improvement after the Baofeng uv5r 8w model. After my opinion is the same performance.Update:I decide to buy another one just because of the team from Tech side. They really do the best to offer a good service and a good product. Hopefully they will keep going and improve the performance. 2 people found this helpful

5.0 out of 5 stars Adequate quality/price ratio, we'll see if they last over time
A nice PMR/LPD radio with Midland-style preset channels, UHF/VHF bands with 128 channels and 8 watts of power, the 1800 mA battery is a bit weak if used at high power often. Good quality of materials and the portable radio antenna. Easy to use and sufficient accessories included, professional earphone. A CAR CHARGER WOULD HAVE BEEN DESIRABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! included in the price and package. Otherwise an excellent purchase, free and easy to use CHIRP programming software. It would be nice to have a preloaded file for local "radio bridges"... but they sell radios... and they do it well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional value for money (ideal for experienced users)
exceptional quality/price ratio (ideal for expert users) GENERAL IMPRESSIONS Inspired by the excellent price, I purchased the pair of TS-T9+ radios for 115 euros (less than the cost of a single Midland G18 radio: I have owned them for some time and in the review I will make a comparison summary), very fast delivery in less than 48 hours, well packaged and with all the essential accessories, as per the product description. The assembly of the battery, antenna and rear clip is very quick (the antenna with SMA-F connection screws on and simply unscrew on the body of the radio and it can be easily replaced with a different one, even more compact or vice versa more powerful, depending on your needs: they can be found both here on Amazon and on the TechSide website at an excellent price) The manual is also in Italian, distribution and assistance are managed by an Italian company, very ready and available to respond to any requests (contact via Amazon messages and then via email was immediate) Physically the radios are robust but quite light and compact, the antenna supplied has an excellent ratio between size (limited) and performance COMPARISON WITH MIDLAND G18 I believe that these TechSide TS-T9+ can be compared directly with the Midland G18, even if the potential use of the TechSide is objectively much wider (and the price is about half). Having said this, here are some of my banal observations: 1) in terms of dimensions and weight, the TS-T9+ has a slimmer body than the G18 (see photo), the weight is comparable, the antenna of the G18 is a little more compact and short (but the antennas can always be replaced, in both cases) 2) the declared compatibility of the channels is confirmed (partially): the two radios "dialogue" immediately and perfectly with each other on the PMR channels, at least up to channel 8; from channel 9 onwards, the frequencies of my Midland G18s do not correspond to those indicated in the table in the TechSide manual (I think it is a problem - so to speak - of my G18s which in fact from channel 9 onwards repeat the same frequencies as channels 1- 8, and if anything I will have to reprogram them); 3) with some suggestions from the TechSide assistance I also managed quite quickly to set the CTCSS tones on some channels of the TS-T9+ to make them private, always with total correspondence and compatibility with the G18 CONCLUSIONS Even though I have not yet done "to the limit" tests ” in the field, I would like to say that from a functional point of view these TechSide Ts-T9+ are very complete, powerful and versatile radios, with the possibility of configuring an infinite number of parameters. I therefore give five stars with enthusiasm, although with a small reservation, because to fully exploit them immediately you need to be quite an expert (I am not and I found it difficult to understand certain basic procedures, which are taken for granted both in the manual and in the videos or other information that technical assistance offers). In any case, I find the quality/price ratio exceptional, so for me a highly recommended purchase. 4 people found this useful Helpful Share

4.0 out of 5 stars Very fast delivery, good product
Two storable channels and intuitive menu

4.0 out of 5 stars Good radio with lots of power.
Product exactly as described. Solid to the touch, compact but with buttons sufficiently spaced from each other and easy to press. Software similar to the more classic Baofeng, perhaps not easy to understand for beginners, but all the programming information can be found online. Good reception and transmission with the supplied antenna. No problems connecting radio links. Long battery life. The company has worked well on this radio and offers other really very interesting products. I remind you that to be able to transmit, you must have an amateur radio operator license, while simply listening does not require any authorization. Product arrived on time and well packaged.

Excellent radio. Compact, powerful, and fully programmable, both via keyboard and with CHIRP by purchasing the appropriate cable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Decent
The price was massively inflated. I could have bought an identical one for half the money. I'm waiting to see it in use. For now, I can only say it's very expensive for the product. Changing the name can't increase the price since the same model with a different name costs half as much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the equivalent Baofeng
This radio is apparently better than the Chinese ones. Easy programming with the free CHIRP program, provided you purchase the appropriate cable.
